Thanks so much for this great and comprehensive overview. This is wonderful, helpful and EVERYONE should read it. Even if one knows perhaps most of it....(at the end of the day it should be common sense), we often forget, neglect or ignore it. So this is a great reminder.
Some weeks agao a friend of mine caught Covid from another person he was around - he said he took for 2 days 100mg zinc and he was fine again. But he also is treating is body in a very health way to begin with.
I’m thrilled that you find my content helpful and that it resonates with you and other readers.
Zinc is indeed fantastic for supporting the immune system, especially during times when our bodies are fighting off infections. I’ve found that combining zinc with a diet rich in fresh, colorful vegetables keeps my immune defenses strong.
It’s amazing how small, consistent choices can build up a natural resilience in our bodies over time!
Have you ever tried pairing zinc with other immune-boosting foods or habits?
Great breakdown. Eating the rainbow and sticking with as many whole foods as possible will do a lot to get us the nutrients we need.
What are your thoughts on the quality of fish oil supplements? I’ve heard a lot about them being risky since they degrade and go rancid so easily after being separated from their whole-food state into a processed oil. If they are in a capsule we would never know they have gone bad.
Great question Tim! Fish oil can indeed go rancid easily, especially in capsule form as it’s prone to oxidation which can degrade quality and potentially pose health risks.
A fantastic alternative is algae oil which offers the same DHA and EPA as fish oil but without contaminants like mercury. Algae is the original source of omega-3s in the marine food chain, so you get a pure, sustainable option with no fishy aftertaste. Look for high quality algae based supplements to stay on the safe side.
