Hi, thank you for this recipe. Do we peel anything or cut everything with the peel? Thank you for any help.

Thanks for your question Jill. If it's organic you can use everything. If not better peel it due to pesticides etc.

Hi! Sounds yummy, but would the nutrients (such as vitamin C) not get oxidized over time and destroyed by the heat? Thanks :)

Hi Bella thanks for the feedback. I’ve added more details to the article to make everything more clear.

Vitamin C stays intact up to 70°C (158°F), so letting the water cool for about 30 minutes after boiling keeps it safe. Storing the pot covered in the fridge overnight also minimizes oxidation which is preserving freshness and nutrients.

Feel free to check out the updated article to get the full picture. I’d love to hear what you think! 😊

What to do with the pulp? Compost it?

Orry's avatar

Thanks for that question cig. I used to reuse it for tea. So you have the shot plus the pulp for the tea. But as the colour of curcuma is very potent by drinking tea sip after sip, I realised that my tooth got a bit more yellow during this time. So I stopped and compost it now. Since then my teeth are white again.

Do you have another idea to reuse it? Would love to hear it.
